Popular Lake Forest-based restaurateur is preparing nutritious meals for seniors through Orange County Great Plates Delivered program.
The Orange County Great Plates Delivered Program is a match made in heaven for Jolanda Day of Jolanda's Café' & Catering of Lake Forest and Age Well Senior Services, exclusive administrator in South Orange County.
Jolanda said the compensation she receives for preparing meals for the program has saved her business. She wasn't sure she would come back from COVID-19. "I served seniors with my catering business, but those events ended with the pandemic," she said. "This program has kept the lights on and my staff employed. I feel good about how much good we are doing."
Seniors have noticed the quality of food they are receiving from Jolanda's. "Jolanda's years of experience, and her commitment to quality are reflected in the plates she prepares," said one woman. "Her meals are varied, nutritious, and delicious. Jolanda always puts her heart and skill into what she serves."
Other participating meal providers include EVORA Culinary Group, Panera Bread locations (multi cities), Congregation Pirchei Shoshannim, (Kosher and Halal meals), Bagels & Brew and Taste Catering.
